Hi! Nice to meet you,

I'm John.

I have always loved nature. My early years were spent roaming around the Jock River in rural Ottawa, catching frogs and crayfish, lying in the dirt to observe bugs, and climbing this one big cedar tree to watch the summer storms roll in while the tree swayed in the wind. Maybe not the safest thing to do as a ten year old, but it was exhilarating to watch how the dark clouds rolled over the fields across the river, devouring the daylight.

My relationship with photography started in 1984 when I purchased my first camera as a teenager in Europe. As a military "brat", I lived in numerous places around the world, and the diversity of the planet's landscapes jump-started my love for photography, not to mention travel.

After living in many (MANY!) different locations across Europe and Canada, I now split my time between Victoria, Canada and Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany. The former is truly one of the most beautiful places on the planet, while the latter is an amazing gateway to all of Europe's natural and cultural wonders. These two locations allow me to capture a wide variety of beautiful images from across Canada and around the world.

I hope you enjoy viewing my photographs as much as I enjoy taking them, and I would love to connect, whether you need some photos or just want to chat about my photos and their subjects.
