All these idioms convey the concept of humanity as more than our physical shells. Our lived experience, knowledge, intelligence, humour, wisdom, emotions - these are the things that truly define each of us, and they're exactly what I strive to capture in my portraits. Interestingly, it's not always the "pretty" photograph that best captures them, but it's always the one that's most true and real. However, that's not to say I don't appreciate or celebrate physical beauty - on the contrary, I also love the playfulness and whimsy of capturing fashion, glamour and boudoir shots.
